Major Incident- UK Ijtima at Shrubland Hall
The UK Ijtima happened at Shrubland Hall, Suffolk, on the weekend of 10-12 July, 2026.
A major incident was declared on Sunday 12 July after police received information about a credible threat towards the event. This resulted in a number of arrests by Counter Terrorism Police, with investigations continuing.
To ensure everyone’s safety, the event was brought to a close earlier than planned during the early hours of Sunday morning. Police worked alongside local authorities and event organisers to facilitate the safe exit of all those attending.
Partner agencies – including Suffolk Police, Mid Suffolk District Council, Suffolk County Council Highways, East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, and Suffolk Joint Emergency Planning Unit – had worked with organisers ahead of the Ijtima.
