SRF Awards 2024

This week the Suffolk Resilience Forum (SRF) recognised achievements for ‘Excellence in Partnership Working’ and ‘Significant Contribution to the SRF’ at the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service awards ceremony evening.

The SRF awards were created to recognise and celebrate those who successfully achieve effective partnership working which ultimately helps to keep Suffolk safe.

There were many nominations from across a variety of organisations nominating individuals who have demonstrated an excellent commitment to multiagency working through planning and responding to incidents and going above and beyond their expected role. The SRF executive members cast their votes earlier this year for the two winners.

The winner for Excellence in Partnership Working was awarded to Vicky Fisk, a Risk and Resilience Officer in the SRF team.

Vicky worked as a police Emergency Planning Officer before joining the SRF team and leads on training and exercising.

Over the past 12 months she has demonstrated outstanding partnership working and collaboration in her delivery of work, and also organised the SRF inaugural conference in April 2024 .

The winner for Significant Contribution to the SRF was awarded to Claire Austin, the Police Emergency Planning Manager.

Claire is the longest serving member of the SRF core groups, with around 20 years experience working within the SRF.

She led on risk for many years and continues to contribute her wealth of experience and knowledge to assist the SRF.

A huge congratulations to everyone nominated and to the winners.

The SRF is a statutory partnership made up of category 1 and 2 agencies as defined within the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, where multi-agency partners work together to plan, prepare, respond and recover from major incidents, for more information visit  https://suffolkprepared.co.uk/about/ .

Most of the emergency planning takes place at Working on Wednesday (WoW) days where representatives from partner organisations work together to make Suffolk as resilient as possible by working on multi-agency risk assessments, emergency plans, joint training and exercising as well as other workstreams.

These meetings are co-ordinated by the SRF team and attended by emergency planning officers and subject matter experts, which means these individuals are working on their individual organisations’ emergency planning as well as the multi-agency aspect.
