Suffolk Connected
The Chief’ Constable Delivery Plan outlines our priorities to make our county safer through four key themes of professionalism; community; courage and compassion.
A new project, that supports these themes as we work to keep our public connected and updated with our work is Suffolk Connected, a community alert system from Neighbourhood Alert. This platform enables residents to sign up to receive free messages about issues affecting their community with the intention being that it will replace our current messaging system Police Connect.
The link to the web portal and details of how to sign up can be found at suffolkconnected.org.uk
Residents can sign up to the free service to receive real time updates and advice from us about what’s happening in their local community. Complementing our existing digital communications channels, it will allow residents to respond directly to issues important to them. Helping us to be even more connected with our communities, it will also enable us to share messages and appeals quickly across a wide area, from collisions to missing people.
It also allows local police officers to conduct surveys with locals relevant to the area to find out about the issues that matter to them and what local residents would like to see happen. It will notify the public to community engagement events or public meetings, allowing them to provide feedback.
The introduction of Suffolk Connected is an important step forward for us in working with communities to empower them and enlisting their support to work together with us to tackle crime. However, we need your support to make this project a success. You can get involved by signing up yourself, spreading the work within your communities and also with family and friends. It’s a great system to find out what’s going on in the area you live, as well as key advice to avoid becoming a victim of crime. The more users we get the more we will get from the system so please get involved.
