Community Emergency Rest Centre Training

Suffolk Joint Emergency Planning Unit and East Suffolk Council invite you and your Community Emergency Planning Group to attend Community Emergency Rest Centre Training. These 3 free training sessions being held across East Suffolk are for those involved with volunteering within a rest centre.

The training session will cover:

  • How and why we set up a Local Authority Rest Centre.
  • How they are operated and the part that community groups could assist in their running.
  • Roles and responsibilities involved with opening a Rest Centre.

These training sessions are also a chance to network with other Town/Parish Community Emergency Planning Groups that might be involved during the response to an incident.

Due to the limited attendance capacity of the venues, all attendees MUST book onto the training using this link: Link

All 3 training sessions will deliver the same content. They are being delivered across East Suffolk as follows:

6pm – 9pm, 14th May 2026, East Suffolk House

4:30pm – 7pm, 4th June 2026, Riverside Offices

6 pm-9 pm, 14th July, Westleton Village Hall

Please sign up to the Rest Centre Training session you would like to attend.
